El Paso's Interstate Plaza Theatre is getting an ornamental facelift. A full strength crew of cleaners and painters are now working on all the decorative painting details on the theatre's ceiling and columns. This process should continued through the summer, ending in the main auditorium.
Other key restoration processes, such as the repair and reinstallation of the original twinkling stars will begin in August. These lights will sit in the newly restored domed atmospheric ceiling of the auditorium and will share a space with a new lighting grid that will increase the theatre's capabilities to support large Broadway road show performances.
The Main auditoriums "trees and foliage" will also be returned to the courtyard walls, adding to the illusion that you are sitting outside in a Spanish courtyard as you watch performances in the theatre.
